Readers are Thinkers

This week in Reader's Workshop, we practiced putting ourselves in the character's shoes and we also shared our thoughts and favorite passages with our reading partners. We used PicCollage along with Flipgrid  for this. It worked well and was a perfect way to merge our reading and tech lives!

We Have Flipgrid Fever!

If you step into our classroom during Reader's Workshop while we are sharing our thoughts and ideas about reading, you will catch it too! I am always looking for ways it integrate technology seamlessly throughout the day and Flipgrid is a perfect fit! My students love it and I love seeing them excited about reading! If you would like to share your book thoughts with us and see what we're thinking, let me know and I will share the link with you!

Selfie Bingo Challenge

This summer our staff was challenged to participate in Summer Selfie Bingo. I accepted the challenge and have actually enjoyed it! You can see some of the selfies from our staff  here. They look great, right! Along with posting pics through Twitter, we are also completing a Google Doc Bingo card.

Since we all seem to be having fun with this, I decided to use Google Drawings to make one to try out with my class this year. I will be happy to share the link!

The App-Mazing Race Mystery Version!

We have experienced a Mysterious February in 3rd Grade! Throughout the month we have been exploring the MYSTERY GENRE!  Our students have enjoyed reading the mysteries of Cam Jansen, The Box Car Children, Encyclopedia Brown, Horrible Harry and so many more!
Last week they chose one of their favorite books to complete our App-Mazing Mystery Race. They used different apps to complete the App-tivity and then they downloaded all of their work into Google Drive in order to create a Google Slide Presentation to showcase their work. They will have the opportunity to share their work with their fellow classmates and also some of our parents during our Technology Tuesday event! Take a look at their presentations and photos below!

More to come!
